Jillian is a veteran communications strategist who builds strong public profiles on a national level for change-makers across industries. Based in our New York City office, Jillian draws on her background in government, tech, urban planning, education and healthcare to advance our public, private and non-profit clients.

Whether crafting and placing thought leadership pieces in top-tier publications or landing high-profile feature stories for corporate executives, non-profit leaders and elected officials, Jillian’s media relations expertise and fluency across a range of public policy issues drive meaningful results.

 Prior to joining Solomon McCown, Jillian was a Vice President at The Noodle Companies, an education technology company, where she led communications around PK-20 education and lifelong learning.

A former Capitol Hill staffer, Jillian was a legislative assistant for Congressman Jerrold Nadler, where she was the lead staffer for the 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, and worked on issues related to healthcare, urban planning and the arts. In the Congressman’s district office, she was involved in a number of large-scale real estate development projects, including the High Line and the Hudson Yards rezoning. In addition, at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Jillian managed the city’s federal and state legislative portfolios on public health, with a focus on disease control, mental health and appropriations.

Jillian has also guided strategic communications, including public affairs and media relations, for a variety non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs and cultural institutions.

Jillian holds a B.A. from the New York University Gallatin School of Individualized Study with a concentration in media and politics. She sits on the advisory board of Merkin Hall, a non-profit contemporary classical music venue in New York City, and is a member of the New York City chapters of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and NAIOP, as well as the New York Building Congress.
