​SM& client Nellie Mae Education Foundation's President and CEO Nicholas Donohue responds to a recent article in TIME Magazine about student-centered approaches to learning, applauding TIME for shining a bright spotlight on the technology that is becoming increasingly critical as schools move towards adopting student-centered approaches to learning to prepare students for 21st century success. He explains that the Nellie Mae Education Foundation has long known that we need to rethink our assembly line approach to traditional schooling by promoting concepts such as flexible use of time, performance-based assessments and hands-on, experiential learning.
