October 20, 2011
More than 100 business & civic
leaders from education, real estate, healthcare and professional
service agencies from across the Commonwealth attended Solomon
McCown's 16th SM& Presents Panel, Leadership In Transition at
Boston Properties' Atlantic Wharf on October 20. They heard a
dynamic conversation among four college and university presidents:
Dawn Barrett, President, Massachusetts College of Art and
Design; Robert Caret, President, University of
Massachusetts; Gloria Larson, President, Bentley
University; Lynn Pasquerella, President, Mount
Holyoke College. The panel was
moderated by Michal Regunberg, Vice
President of Solomon McCown &
Company.
The conversation spanned topics from
their vision and goals for their institutions, the impact of gender
and background on their leadership, communicating the value of a
college degree in the current economy, their plans for campus
expansion and their roles as "living logos" for their
institutions. And yes, they talked about childhood role
models including "Nancy Drew" and "Dorothy" in "The Wizard of
Oz."
Follow up material from the panel will
be available soon. For now, enjoy some of our favorite photos from
the event:
