"FOOD FIGHT": SM& PANEL TACKLES CHILDHOOD OBESITY DEBATE

On April 28, 2005, Solomon McCown & Company and United Way of Massachusetts Bay presented “FOOD FIGHT: Marketing and the Childhood Obesity Debate,” a discussion of the crisis of childhood obesity, the societal sectors that bear the responsibility, and the role of advertising and marketing in affecting this alarming trend. The distinguished panel included: Milton Little, president and CEO of United Way of Massachusetts Bay; Charles Baker, president and CEO of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Inc., and Raja Mishra, health reporter for The Boston Globe. The panel, which was moderated by SM&’s President and CEO Helene Solomon, drew a crowd of close to 100.
