Our client, the Mount Vernon Company, was featured in The Boston Globe along with the City
of Boston at the launch of the Allston Green District, the first
sustainable residential district of its kind on the East Coast. The
district will include three new buildings and extensive remodels to
four existing apartment complexes.
"We wanted to do something different, set a new standard," Bruce
Percelay, Mount Vernon company founder, told The Globe.
"The green movement is here to stay."
Sustainable elements of the district include LEED certifications;
white roofs; an organic roof garden; separately metered water;
recycled public art; and hydration stations with purified water to
cut down on the excess use of plastic water bottles.
