SOLOMON MCCOWN & COMPANY WINS
TWO COMMUNICATOR AWARDS
April 2006
The Communicator Awards is an international competition that recognizes excellence in the communications field, as judged by industry professionals, and SM& is honored to have received a pair this year:
• Media Kit/Special Event: Pfizer's Boston Heart Party 2005, a cardiovascular disease (CVD) education and screening campaign for women. For the campaign's seventh year, SM& enlisted 53 local restaurants to promote heart-healthy items on their menus with the Boston Health Party logo, then promoted this menu program with a press kit packaged in a Chinese-takeout box. Along with an unprecedented amount of local print and broadcast coverage, the campaign welcomed more than 5,600 people for free CVD screenings.
• Publicity/Newspaper Placement: Local Initiatives Support Coalition (LISC), a national intermediary that helps connect low-income communities to the economic mainstream. To celebrate and promote LISC's 25 th anniversary, SM& targeted distinguished Washington Post columnist David Broder and guided him through one of LISC's Washington, D.C., projects. Broder's laudatory Sunday column was reprinted in regional and local newspapers across the country.
SM& thanks the Communicator Awards for the acknowledgment, and we thank our clients for challenging us to do our best work every day.
