SOLOMON MCCOWN & COMPANY TAKES HOME MULTIPLE BELL RINGER
AWARDS
June 2005
Sponsored by The Publicity Club of New England, The Bell
Ringer Awards honor excellence and achievement in the communications and public
relations field. This year, SM& was gratified to find itself among an
elite group of multiple award winners, receiving six awards:
Energy Bucks, a unique partnership between the state’s
investor-owned utilities and the Low Income Energy Affordability Network (LEAN).
This consumer affairs campaign succeeded, for the second year running, to
penetrate a hard- to-reach audience and achieve the goal of getting more low
income families to sign up for energy cost saving programs.
- Simon Property Group, Inc., “Yes, Virginia,
There Is a Stress-free Holiday.” Our creative press kit, a “book”
filled with anti-stress items and holiday story ideas, attracted extensive
media coverage and helped drive record sales on “Black Friday,”
retailers’ most crucial time for sales, just before holiday time.
- Citizens' Housing and Planning Association
(CHAPA), “Faces and Places of Affordable Housing.” On behalf
of this state-wide advocacy organization, we created a video that resonated
with key stakeholders and helped CHAPA shift the tide of public opinion
on a heated issue.
- Pfizer, Inc., The Boston Heart Party™,
prominent Boston Globe food section cover story with photo. We drew attention
to Pfizer’s cardiovascular disease education and risk factor screening
program for women by creating a new program around heart-healthy eating.
- Parris Landing, Industrial chic marketing
campaign and press kit. We branded the new property in Charlestown as
one of the hottest in town, identified it with Philippe Starck and his
urban chic, and positioned it to exceed sales expectations.
While nothing is more important than the results themselves, Bell Ringer awards
are a welcome recognition of our commitment to stellar work on behalf of our
clients.
