LISA GUYON -- EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, BUILDING IMPACT

After 3 years as the Manager of Client Programs and Community Innovation at Paradigm Properties, Lisa helped create Building Impact, a nonprofit pioneering an innovative model for significantly increasing community involvement and civic engagement. Building Impact is mobilizing a new movement of volunteer and giving opportunities to address the most critical issues in local communities by delivering to them in the buildings where they live and work.

Lisa has managed the nonprofit program since its inception in 2000. She focuses her time and effort on directing the growth of Building Impact's portfolio of buildings, organizational development and ensuring maximum community impact.

Lisa volunteers as a board member and advisor with a number of local community organizations, and recently served as a Fellow for Social Venture Partners Boston. Under Lisa's leadership, Building Impact was selected as winner of the 2007 Social Innovation Forum in the Social Enterprise: Non-Profit Business Venture category and Lisa was recently chosen as one of Boston's '40 Under 40' rising business leaders by the Boston Business Journal.

In her Mission Recognition interview, Lisa explains how private-sector experiences inspired the powerful and innovative model that transforms civic desire into action through "building-based engagement." Lisa also explains how Building Impact's earned-income model is invaluable for its growth and sustainability.
