SOLOMON MCCOWN ENTERS NEW STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS PARTNERSHIP FOR THE 2008 SOCIAL INNOVATION FORUM

November 20 , 2007

Each year since 2003, the Social Innovation Forum has provided its selected Social Innovators access to professional services in a range of areas to help hone their organizational models and increase their impact. The partnerships have expanded over the past several years and the Social Innovation Forum is delighted to announce a new partnership with Solomon McCown & Company, a strategic communications firm based in Boston. Solomon McCown will provide communications counsel and training that will help connect these results-oriented nonprofits to potential donors and other stakeholders.

The Social Innovation Forum teams up with local leaders in business, marketing, and academia, among others, to offer its Innovators business and development consulting, executive coaching, relationship-building, presentation training, and capacity building in a targeted area. Just a few of the standing partnerships include: working with the Ariel Group on in-depth presentation skills; utilizing Executive Coaches from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology’s two-year degree program; and partnering the Innovators with Common Impact, which then provides one of their technology, marketing or Human Resource services. To complement this suite of services, Solomon McCown will work with the selected nonprofits to sharpen their message so they can better reach their target audiences and develop a media strategy to generate coverage and visibility.

Solomon McCown has built a reputation helping national, regional, and local organizations reach and influence key constituencies, and capture critical funds and support through strategic and creative communications and thought leadership programs. Solomon McCown is pleased to bring this experience and skill set to the 2008 Social Innovation Forum by providing two teams of communications experts along with a senior member of its Non-Profit Practice to work with the Innovators in their identified tracks.

The unique Social Innovation Forum/Solomon McCown partnership will begin after the Social Innovators are announced and celebrated during an event at the MIT Faculty Club on Thursday, December 6, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
